The Upper Rio Grande Economic Development Council (URGEDC) is a 501 ( c ) 6 non-profit organization formed to help with economic development in the Rio Grande drainage. We have a vision to utilize the abundant resources of the area along with smart planning to create a thriving and prosperous community for all of those living here.
            Our goals as an Economic Development Group within the Upper Rio Grande Region are to:

• Become the communication hub of economic development activities for the defined region.
• Assist with creating infrastructure and recreation ventures.
• Encourage growth in the Agricultural industry and Agribusiness
• Develop a proactive committee that will go out and promote the present, past and future of the development area.
• Create a “ready-response” team to interface with companies interested in relocating in the development area.
• Establish a database containing contact information for services in the area that can be used for proactive development, and provide that as a tool for new industry.

We believe that by “Partnering for Planned Growth” we can accomplish our goals and by achieving these goals we can provide a bright future for the Rio Grande region.
